I think Rescue 5 became available and offered to respond in with the collapse rig. R-1 went 10-8

This was at the Seguine Ave. bldg. which is way down near the southern end of the island. Rescue 5 was working at another job and by the time they were released L132 w/R-2 Collapse were on the bridge so R5 was told to continue into the job and R-1 was told to 10-2.

Massive storm blowing through here.  Several relocations and companies operating with acting second sections in both SI, Brooklyn, and the Rockaways.

Oops! My neighbor's tree just fell over across two back yards and is resting on a garage attached to my back yard. Lights are blinking, so I may be offline any minute. ::)

You know it's busy when the dispatcher asks "Is any unit available on the South Shore?"

Staten Island's hogging all the airtime on my scanner today!  ;D

All the Rescue's are all over the place. Rescue 4 going to the bronx, Rescue 5 to the Bronx, Rescue 1 to SI. Hectic day, and CADS was down for a while too, old fashioned pencil and paper!  :D

i'm not hoping it by any means mind you, but, being the weather nut I am, and seeing what the past few summers have been like, I wouldn't be surprised if a major tornado(EF3 or higher) hit the city, or S.I. especially. And even know the mayor claims that we are "safe" inside the buildings from weather events, not everyone can get inside a building, and if a twister hits midtown, those people are going to be guillotined with all that glass. Again, not hoping it, but it will happen.

out of curiosity what are the odds of a twister hitting midtown wouldn't it be hard for it to form due to there not begin enough room between the buildings begin so close??? it could happen in another borough though

Not sure about midtown, but each of the rivers, all of s.i., lots of brooklyn and queens and the bronx have flatland that will "help" a tornado wreak all kinds of havoc, especially south sure areas. Again, not hoping for this by any means, but just looking at these weather patterns...i'm a bit concerned.
