The Fire was on Hempstead Ave in QNS ....3 blocks East after crossing over the Cross Island Pkwy it becomes Nassau & Hempstead Turnpike heading toward the Nassau Colesium.....odd response for 299 & 152 to be extra E&T if they came from their qtrs .....this job came in not long after the AH in Flushing ....126 was relocated to 129 on that....i guess some crisscrossing of Units....also when this came in SQ*270 was going somewhere maybe Harlem ?...QNS asked if they were still in the Boro & when they said yes he assigned them to 5473.

Chief  yes the s/c x eng and truck 299 & 152 responded from quarters......It seemed the same to me as it does to you...that's a long run...I was listening to the radio at the house watch and Queens went bonkers around 2200 hrs....There were many boxes out with reports of gas leaks all over especially the north east end of Queens.....This along with company's relocated kept the dispatcher  on the toes for awhile......We had a run around 2215 hrs to Roosevelt Ave and Warren St as the 2nd due engine
