Manhole fire with extension to the basement of 2 buildings:
1. A 30 story 50x90 hotel.
2. A 13 story mixed occupancy.
0740 - E-65 - We are being flagged into a manhole fire on West 45 Street. There is fire pushing from the manhole.
0750 - Bn. 9 - Notify Con-Ed that we have smoke pushing from a transformer. Engine 65 is stretching a line and we are checking the exposures.
0804 - Bn. 9 - We have elevated CO in the electrical room of a hotel at 44 West 45 Street and heat from the panel. Notify Con-Ed.
0807 - Bn. 9 - Transmit the All Hands. We also have elevated CO from 62 West 45 Street.
L-2 FAST
0810 - Bn. 9 - The condition is isolated to the electrical service in both buildings (44 & 62 West 45 Street).
0813 - Bn. 9 - There is no need for evacuations, but there is another manhole pushing smoke in front of 70 West 45 Street.
0825 - Div. 3 - We have smoke still pushing from 2 manholes. Monitoring CO in the buildings. CO is contained to the electrical rooms.
0829 - Div. 3 - Con-Ed is on scene. We are going to release the rescue and squad. PWH - Duration 50 minutes.
0833 - Div. 3 - We are going to hold E-65 & 54 and L-24 & 4. Under Control - Duration 53 minutes.
