Just before this box 270 & 126 were on another box which 270 gave as a small rubbish fire & QNS redirected 126 to 8970 before the 10-75...then on the 10-75 270 was assigned.

Ahh, the memories.  It's maybe January 1999...working in L133 when a box is transmitted for a house fire...flat roof PD.  Queens dispatcher is filling out the box due to calls.  "Queens to Ladder 133...respond to box XXXX as 2nd due truck".  Flying along Liberty Ave, I hear a familiar voice...a certain un-named Capt of Ladder 126...working his last tour before being promoted.  "126 is available".  "10-4, 126...take it in...you are now second due truck".  "Ladder 133, you are now the FAST truck".  Well, the expletives unleashed from the Lt next to me in the front seat could fill a dictionary...lol.  Hahaha...I can still remember crying laughing as he bitched and moaned.  Fortunately, we both caught an ass-kicking occupied PD later that night...so all was forgotten.  Yet another great night on the Greatest Job in the World.  Stay safe.

Oh Man Don...yes my last 6x9 night tour as a CPT 3-7-99...an All Hands around 107 Av & 123 St then a Second Alarm around 89 Av & Sutphin Blvd then later a Third Alarm on Merrick Blvd around 108 Av...a better way to go out that night than my last night as a BC ten  years later landing in the the ICU.....take me back to '99.
