Transformer vault fire.

1549 - L-8 - We got a transformer going on West 23 St. between 7 & 8 Ave.  Transmit the box.

1552 - E-65 - We were passing the scene, please assign us to the box.

1554 - Bn. 6 - We have a transformer vault on fire.  Ladder 8 is checking surrounding properties.

1614 - Bn. 6 - We are evacuating 25 people from a gym at 213 W 23 St.  We have active flame in a manhole.

1630 - Bn. 6 - Using 2x2 to monitor the surrounding properties.  We are also evacuating 220 W 23 St., a commercial occupancy.

1648 - Bn. 6 - Still using 2x2.  Per Con-Ed, we are flooding the hole.

1708 - Bn. 6 - We used All Hands - Under Control - No additional units are needed.

I noticed in a recent post from another borough that units on scene requested a Fire Ice Unit for a transformer vault fire and the request was denied by the dispatcher.  The dispatcher stated that Fire Ice Units can be requested for Manhole Fires but not for Transformer Vault Fires.  Anybody know why?
