Passenger airplane skidded off the runway with fuel leak.
Automatic 2nd Alarm
1110 - QD - Delta flight with ruptured wing and fuel leak. Flight 1086 (Atlanta to LaGuardia)
1112 - QD - Flight is inbound.
1114 - QD - Plane skidded off of the runway. Hit the fence and leaking fuel.
TL-138 FAST
1117 - R-4 - Being told that the plane is not in the water, just up against the fence.
1118 - Div. 14 - Transmit the 10-86. (Fluoroprotein Foam Operation)
1128 - Bn. 46 - Per Port Authority, all passengers have been removed from the plane. This is not confirmed by FDNY units.
1132 - Bn. 49 - We have about 300 gallons of fuel down, all passengers have been evacuated, there are no serious injuries.
1139 - Div. 14 - Fuel spill is contained and covered in foam. Duration 30 minutes.
1204 - FC per Car 9 - There were 130 passengers and crew. All have been evacuated to the terminal. There is an active airline fuel leak, FDNY foam units are assisting to mitigate the situation. DWH - Duration 55 minutes.
1220 - FC - FDNY units are remaining on scene. We have 3 task forces: 1. Foam Task Force - assisting to mitigate the fuel spill. 2. Water Relay Task Force - shuttling water from the nearest hydrant. 3. Medical Branch Task Force - assessing all passengers that are now in Terminal B.
1235 - FC - Satellite units and the Hose Wagon have provided a positive water source. The are supplying Port Authority Crash Trucks and have water for FDNY units as needed. DWH
1243 - FC - Port Authority advises of 16 minor injuries, 1 has been transported to Forest Hills Hospital. A Reunification center is being set up at the Crown Plaza Hotel on Ditmars Blvd. EMS will go there to assess the passengers.
1251 - FC - This will be an extended operation for the units on the tarmac who are cleaning up the fuel spill. Units in staging will go 10-8 on their MDT units. PWH - Duration 1 hour 41 minutes.
1258 - FC - Updated patient count, 22 green tag and 2 yellow tag. The yellow tags have been transported to the hospital.
1400 - Div. 14 - Under Control - Duration 2 hours 50 minutes.
