Don't think so. Not that far north on Sedgwick. The box is for Kingsbridge at Sedgwick. Prior to BARB (Starfire and before) 75/33 went in 2d due, followed by 48/56 (straight run west on Kingsbridge). Then 79/37.

Oddly, 79/37 was assigned before 48/56 to Kingsbridge at the Concourse but the reverse at Kingsbridge at Jerome. Why? No turn for 48, they used the tunnel under the Concourse to get to points west.
BARB appears to finally considering that both 48/56 and 75/33's  new quarters are further south then they used to be.

43/59 can get there before any 2nd due companies without trying.  On Sedgwick the whole time and there are only three traffic lights and one significant intersection to pass thru.

Why do you think the Blue Devils moved in with E-43.  Also, we were a Tiller in the early 80"s, when I got there.

Bailey is closer to Fordham Rd than Kingsbridge Rd.

"Bailey  is closer to Fordham Rd than Kingsbridge Rd."

Not quite sure what you mean by that but you guys supporting 43 / 59 are probably correct. Here's the Rand McNally street mileage from current firehouse locations:

79  1.3 miles
75    1.4
48.  1.4
43.    1.4

Here's why it used to be different (from their old locations)
79  1.3 (same)
75.  1.0
48.  1.2
43.  1.4 (same)

If what phish posted is correct maybe BARB prefers the companies using major thoroughfares rather than the narrow Sedgwick ave. since it's pretty much a dead heat otherwise.

It is my thinking that if the incident is at Bailey & Sedgwick the box at Fordham & Sedgwick would be closer than the box at Kingsbridge & Sedgwick.

The address 2619 Sedgwick is closer to kingsbridge rd hence 3385, box 3362 is located mid way on Sedgwick between kingsbridge rd & bailey ave, lastly box 3361 is Sedgwick & bailey ave. I think 3361 & 3362 get 43/59 second due but 3385 is as stated in other posts.

Does anybody know if barb calculates to a street intersection or an address? Can make quite a difference.

The old system, which began in the 1870s, and was completely overhauled in the 1920s, calculated strictly by the street intersection where the box was actually located. Despite all the changes over the years in streets and development, that old system, long be four computers and satellites, remains pretty damn accurate.
