Receiving numerous calls giving 4th engine, R1 and Sq18 15:41

CIDS 5 story MD 30x80 class3 shelter soup kitchen 1st story setback connected to church exposure 2

-E23 10-75 for smoke from the basement windows 15:42
-B9 extra 1&1 (E8, L4) 15:42
-B9 going with the CIDS for sizeup and exposures(1-street, 2-highrise MD, 3-yard, 4-highrise MD) 15:44
-B9 transmit the Second Alarm we have water on the fire. Primaries are being conducted and the fire is in the front of the basement 15:48
-D3 we have 3LS (1 into the basement, 1 to the 1 floor, and 1 precautionary) request 2 extra trucks (L2, L16) to come to the CP. Primary searches are negative in the basement and 2,3,4,5 floors, just waiting on the 1 floor 16:03 24 mins
-D3 10-41c1 for a heavy body of fire on arrival 16:06 27 mins
-D3 have ConEd Gas and Electric respond here and the fire is still Doubtful 16:12 33 mins
-RAC1 10-84 16:14
-Car36B 10-84 16:14
-FC continuing to open up in the basement of the fire building as well as checking exposure 2 which is a church. Remain Doubtful 16:26 47 mins
-Sq18 10-8c2 16:28
-FC continuing to open up and primary searches throughout the fire building are negative. Also R1 RB SAT1/E9 are 10-8 16:29 50 mins
-FC request HM, HMB, and closest HMTU-Sq288 (E44 unavailable, on Box 7400) and contact us on the 800MHz Ch6B 16:44
-FC as per the HMB call a Decon Task Force, Decon Support, and the DSU 17:00
-FC all members removed from the basement awaiting HM and ? Probably Will Hold 17:02 1h 23 mins

You know it's bad when a tower ladder company is using a rear mount as a spare and it's a reserve piece because just about every company that has a Ferrara has a spare

That dosent look good, I thought with the tower ladders that they were in ok shape with spares but apparently not, they must be pretty hard up to use a reserve truck, I thought that was a no no. Anyone know what the decon task force was needed for ?

A lot of changes since that card was published a half century ago.  Many of those companies are long gone.

tough run for 81/46. Normal rush hour Bridge traffic Plus Yankee game would make the Deegan a mess. Side streets to the Henry Hudson/WSH?
