Assignment at this fire was: 6 engines, 4 trucks, rescue, squad, 2 BCs, 1 DC.  This would be a 2nd alarm assignment years ago.  Funny that some jobs today that are "All-Hands" would have been multiple alarm fires in the past.

Just the same, working fires that were "2 and 2" (10-30s) jobs in the "War Years" are 10-75s, All-Hands and 2nd alarms today.

It works both ways and makes fire data from different eras difficult to compare.

And then there was "using 2 and 2 with the 3rd engine fast." Meanwhile everybody there was getting the snot knocked out of them because the BC didn't want the Division coming in. Heard that many times from my dad when he came home from a tough 6x9.
