The original report from M-4 came over DaBronx frequency,M-4 reported they had an injured member & were

responding to the pier behind Gracie Mansion, they were instructed to switch to the Manhattan frequency.

12:06..D-3, have a Queens BC respond to 32-50 Vernon Blvd. (Costco) NE corner of the bulkhead for security

until a Marine unit arrives. This is where the incident occurred

D-3, have another Bus respond for another injured member of M-4

Chowson,

You never ask about the who or the unit they are? It is disrepestful to house and the member's family which have to be notified. You just have to wait till it announced publicly.

Just try to be respectful.

FIREFIGHTER CRITICALLY INJURED FDNY MARINE UNIT ACCIDENT

Tuesday, June 10, 2014  An #FDNY Firefighter suffered a very serious arm injury today, apparently on an FDNY boat (MARINE 4) on the East Side, off East 90th Street and the FDR Drive. The Firefighter operating on Marine 4 (a 31' Fast boat) got into a major accident-the boat was trying to dock in Queens, and struck a piling, causing it to puncture the pilot house. An FDNY Marine FF became pinned from the piling.  He is at Bellevue, in serious condition.

Where are you getting this from?  I'm ON THIS job dude and no one ever worries about that.  It's not disrespectful, it's information.  There is ZERO disrespect to say, "member from Marine 4 was transported to Bellvue with a crush injury".

Save your condescension for someone else, I don't need a lecture on respect from a buff on the internet.  I'll try to get information on one of my injured brothers anytime anyhow.  The job sure as hell doesn't tell us anything.

I agree with chows on I'll do whatever I can to find out about a brother on our job. A lot of guys are detailed to the marine unit during the summer months and can possibly be from a house in your battalion or a brother you know from probie school or a sport team or wherever

We don't need a lecture on respect they are our brothers we are all family
Like us or hate us for wanting to know about our brother trust me we aren't gonna lose sleep over it

Some of us either have been a member of a fire department and are retired, or we are still working on the job in one capacity or another.  In my opinion, were the injured FF one of our brothers, we would want to know the person's name as well.  I don't think that it is disrespectful as long as we are not trashing on the brother.  I think that even those of us who feel a "brotherhood" (including, of course, our sister FF's as well) among all FF's would want to know, even if it is to pray for the injured brother.  And I also think that we need to respect those of the brotherhood in the FDNY the most - after all, that is why we are here.  I would take the word of truck4 and Chowson and the others on this forum who are on the job at FDNY above anyone else, just because they are on the job.  Thank you both, and thank you to all of the FDNY brothers and sisters on the job.

Last I heard the other day when he was injured was that he was in surgery trying to get blood to flow again.  Like I said just what I heard
