Compactor fire in a 34 story MD.

0045 - Bn. 12 - Using 2x2 for a compactor fire, unknown floor. Chasing down the smoke.

0056 - Bn. 12 - Fire is knocked down in the compactor room. Requesting a Vent Truck for smoke (TL-23).

0129 - Bn. 12 - Continuing to operate on scene to alleviate smoke.

0044 - Bn. 12 - All Hands - Under Control - 10-27. No additional units needed.

Looks like Schomberg Plaza. Very bad Compact fire there back in the late 80's. The compactor chutes had sprinklers but they were clogged. Fire traveled up interior piping to the upper floors. Fire broke out in several apartments before FD could figure out what was actually happening. Several Deaths and many changes came after that.
