An interesting few minutes last night after this box came in. All of the below within 15-20 mins:

This fire was in a furniture store. Could have gone anywhere but they got it. Nice work, 50 82 46 45, 19 27 31.

92/44 held up at a box at 168 and Third Ave at about the same time.

E48 was at a brush fire (maybe they said rubbish?) on the Concourse and 204th St.

62 79 81  32 37 called to Montefiore Hospital.

42 and probably 75 43  33 59 to a gas leak (?) on Monroe at the Cross Bronx Expwy.

A house fire on Jerome and 190th got 88 52    56 38. (Turned out to be a 10-18, but we're getting desperate here when 52 is 2d due on Jerome just above Fordham Rd.

E38 relocated to E82.

By 11:15 or so, there was not an engine company in service from Morrisania to Riverdale. It occured to me that if there was a job anywhere east of the Bronx River, in Tremont, Belmont, Fordham, Bedford Park, Norwood, Williamsbridge, Kingsbridge, or Riverdale, 63, 90, 95, or 97 might have been first due (or the whole first alarm assignment).

Nothing happened. Within a few minutes, units started going 10-8 as everything but the 10-75 at 2747 was handled quickly.  E69 came over to cover E46. But it was dicey there for a while.

Interesting point there "3511". Excellent rundown of what went on during that time frame. Nice work and lucky there wasn't an occupied building fire come in during that time. Those civilians could have been in real trouble waiting for the first due companies.
