7/29/2013 318 FDNY Probationary Firefighters Sworn In

Made up of 200 EMS from promotion test, 100 off of preferred list and 18 off of the new list.
 
His point is many have asked about when open competitive list was going to be started, it has now. The make up of this class was supposed to be ems and the mandated hires, it seems like they couldnt get the numbers needed so make up of this class changed.  So I guess we can say that this was a point of information for some candidates on the open competitive list.
 
Was not posting it to make a point. Maybe someone who reads the posts and is on the list would be interested to know more about their future and how far they are on the list. Wasn't posting it for any specific reason. Just throwing the info out there. It's also important because now the time limit on the test has begun because they hired the first 18 off of it.

Could someone please explain what the preferred list is and how it was established?  Thanks!
