Address: 86 E 4th Street off 2nd Ave.

Fire in the basement of a 6 story 80x30 MD.

Bn. 6 transmitted the 10-75 for smoke in the basement.

TL-9 FAST, E-7 4th due

1030 - Bn. 6 - All Hands Working.  Water on the fire.  Searches in progress.

1032 - Bn. 6 - Primaries are complete and negative in the basement and 1st floor.  Fire darkening down.

1037 - Div. 1 - MBFKD, Trucks opening up, Searches in progress on the upper floors.  DWH.

1041 - Div. 1 - Primaries are complete and negative throughout.  PWH - Duration 20 minutes.

1049 - Div. 1 - Secondaries are complete in the basement and 1st floor.  10-41 code 1, unable to determine the cause.  Under Control - Duration 27 minutes.

Were there other boxes out in the area? 9 Truck should be first due, and what about 11 Truck? Would think 3 or 20 would be F.A.S.T.

10:32hrs. - Battalion 6 reporting Exposure # 1 is E. 4th St; # 2 is a courtyard; # 3 is unknown; # 4 is 2nd Ave.

L-11 doesn't go to 2d Ave, the East side of 1st is about as far as we go.  There have been jobs a few blocks down 2nd that we haven't even moved for and have stood on the apron and watched.  Much of the reason is because of the work load in the 70s, specifically around 432 Box.  As per the old timers, 28/11 was doing so much then, that they didnt really want to go West....
