Fisherman Drowns on SI

A young man drowned last night after fishing with friends from rocks off the north shore of Staten Island, police said.
Nemesio Rojas-Samora, 21, was hit by a wave and swept into the Kill Van Kull, authorities said. A police source said he could not swim.
Rojas-Samora was pulled out by FDNY divers and rushed to nearby Richmond University Hospital, where he died.

Staten Island man is hit by wave, drowns

NEW YORK (AP) ? A 21-year-old man drowned when a large wave knocked him into the water near Tysen Street and Richmond Terrace on Staten Island.
Police say Nemesio Rojas-Samora of Staten Island was standing on some rocks washing his hands when a wave hit him at around 9:15 p.m. Sunday.
Police and firefighters searched and found his body in the water. He was taken to Richmond University medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation is continuing.
