EMS is responding.

The 46th Precinct has called a Level 3 Mobilization

1250 - NYPD 46th Pct. wants no vehicles on sections of 183 Street and  Grand Concourse

1252 -  NYPD 46th Pct. has requested a 2nd Bus for an MOS that was hit by Airmail.

The PO who was shot is in the hospital at this time and in serious condition.

Perpetrator has been announced dead as he was shot by Police

I hate to say this but the PO has died.. :(

The assassinated officer, Miosotis Familia, died in the hospital in this unprovoked attack.  The killer was then chased by police, pulled a gun and was shot.

Familia was rushed to St. Barnabus Hospital, where she died of her injuries.

Police say responding officers shot and killed Bonds at the scene.

?An Anti-Crime team consisting of a sergeant and police officer who were in uniform encountered a male subject running on Morris Avenue, approximately one block from the scene of the shooting. As they confronted him, he drew a revolver. The officers fired at him, striking and killing him," said Police Commissioner James O'Neill. "Based on what we know, it's clear this was an unprovoked attack on police officers who were assigned to keep this great city safe."

A silver revolver was recovered at the scene.

A bystander was also struck by a bullet in the incident, but suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Miosotis Familia worked in the 46th precinct and was  a 12-year veteran of the NYPD.

She is the sixth officer since 2014 to be killed while on duty.

RIP.  Prayers for her family and NYPD.

This is TERRIBLE NEWS. My condolences goes out to the family and friends of this officer. And to the members of the NYPD on this very tragic loss.

Earlier this year we had a FDNY/EMS medic killed when run over by the ambulance she was in. Stolen by a career criminal with I believe THIRTY (30) prior arrest.

We continue to loose good people who dedicate their lives to helping others. We have been more concerned with protecting the criminals rights than our own.

I am very sadden to read the news this morning. I just can't put myself in the position of how the family members must feel right now. It takes a very special kind of family member to be the spouse, or parents of those who are out there risking their lives for all of us.

My prayers and condolences.

any connection to this?

May Officer Familia Rest in Peace. Prayers for her family and fellow Officers.

RIP to PO Familia. I too monitored this before I went to bed and her condition was unknown. Waking
up to the news is unsettling.

Heartbreaking Gut wrenching, RIP to PO Familia - Condolences to the family and especially the children who must now face growing up without a mother.

REST IN PEACE TO OUR SISTER IN BLUE.....PRAYERS FOR THE COMFORT OF THE FAMILIES.

Its only after we lose someone like this that we actually get to know the People who do this job. Her background in community service is not like the common resume. She just stood out like so many others that put the Uniform on proudly. Thank an Officer Today don't just pass them by as we do.

My condolences to the Familia Family and the N.YP.D.

Thank You

PO Familia being transported back to the BX....no Funeral Arrangements yet.
