At 2:32 AM 07/05/21 the Hamden Fire Department responded to a house fire at 40 Beechwood Avenue. Upon arrival Engine 2 spotted an occupant leaning out of a second floor window. Rescue 2 personnel threw a ladder to the window and were able to grab the trapped occupant. The occupant was transported by AMR to the hospital for smoke inhalation. The fire started in the living room and is under investigation by the Fire Marshal's Office.
