Prefer a proper rundown, probable rundowns have shown to be rather inaccurate. I could have come up with that myself.

then why dont you get the right one...or post a "probable" one your self and i said probable so some one could come in with the right one!! that just shows who might of went

Are the EMS rescue medics doing normal day to day EMS runs/work, in a normal bus, but have additional training in technical rescue as pertains to their role as paramedics.

Do the rigs they use carry any specific equipment relavent to their role and extra responsibilty as Technical Rescue Paramedics?

Thanks

JT

Found the info i asked.cheers.

JT,
Yes the rescue medics do everyday ALS 911 calls but are also specially trained to provide ALS care in technical rescue situations such as collapses, confined spaces, etc. They do have some specialized rescue equipment on there ambulance but work along side the S.O.C. companies (rescue, squads, etc) who have the rest of the resources and equipment needed.  There is at least 1 rescue medic unit in every boro.

JT - With regard to your Squad assignment question:

From the FDNY Operational Reference Eighth Edition - pages 84 and 85

"Unlike other special units which are dispatched to battalion areas, squads are assigned to first-due engine company response areas, shown below"

Squad 18: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, 18, 21, 23, 24, 26, 28, 33, 34 39, 40, 44, 54, 55, 65, 74, (27 total)

I believe there maybe a map showing all of this - I can't recall off the top of my head.

There is a listing of all the Squads and their associated Engine Companies in the Operational reference

Thanks EFD, I have a copy of that book, but an older one, i asked because i was listening into Manhattan at the time the box came in, and i never heard a mention of Squad 18 going into the box, or any Squad for that matter, but many thanks for the info.
