As Per St. Patrick?s Cathedral Facebook Page:
The FDNY is testing a new fire truck, with a 300 ft. vertical reach, at St. Patrick?s today to take extra safety precautions in response to the tragic fire at Notre Dame Cathedral. We want to thank the FDNY for their diligence and hard work in keeping us all safe. May God bless them.

Hmmm...  I'd really like to see any FDNY Info on this Pic. It appears to be
Testing of a Rental Crane ? Does FDNY have an actual Plans/Assignment for such a Rig ?  ???

Yes, they do.

Discussed at many staff meetings.  Bronto skylift type apparatus.

Exploring places to keep it. Very preliminary at this point.

I'm almost positive it's a Bronto HLA series industrial platform they are testing in this picture (https://brontoskylift.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/S-HLA_EN_lowres.pdf). I know several of the utility companies in New York have them so they probably brought one down for FDNY to test.

Also, after doing some further looking around I found that there is actually a company in NYC that rents them out for industrial uses (https://skywaylifts.com/?fbclid=IwAR0GT_o7JeZGsKc-vm6TNTvUf3-VTI7VbFIyUm7i9qQo4FAzw1w40OYslFA) Although the tallest one they list on their webpage is 230ft.

Here's a link to the fire service version that NFPA rates for 291ft (https://brontoskylift.com/us/product/f291hla/). Obviously they are a special-purpose piece of apparatus much like the Super Pumper was. They are no where near as maneuverable or quick to set up as other aerial apparatus but they certainly have a huge height advantage when needed.

A Toronto Fire Platoon Chief (Division Chief) tweeted that he was in the city working with FDNY testing out the Bronto that was pictured.

Toronto currently operates two 114? Bronto quint?s as regular Ladder Companies and had a 3rd until about 2015, when it was moved to spare status and replaced with an E One Metro straight stick. They?re used regularly at multiple alarm fires and high angle rescues  and prove very useful but have had maintenance problems.

Don Beam (@Chief3052) Tweeted:
Waiting my turn to go up in a 70m Bronto Skylift. Where you ask.... in New York with ⁦@FDNY⁩ ... what a great group of pros. An honour to be with them this weekend. https://t.co/IOWihNkEKS
