Battery fire on wheelchair, apartment 472

BC49 to MAN: Transmit the 10-77, we have an electric wheelchair on fire in apartment 472 with a heavy smoke condition

CIDS: 19-story 100x300 class 1 MD. Sandwich apartments. Interconnected with 510 and 546 Main Street in basement and 4,7 floors. Siamese connection in exposure 1.

BC45 to QNS: the house (259,128) is responding to the 10-77

TL163 responding to the 10-77

Designations:
E259HRN, E312CFRD, TL117 FAST

BC49: Attack stairway is Stairway “I”

BC49: Box 1945, using All-Hands. We have 1LSO. Second line is being stretched. Searches are underway, trucks opening up. DWH.

BC49: primaries in fire apartment are negative.

First time I have seen the term SANDWICH APARTMENTS. Could someone explain please.

Alternating duplex apartments. One goes up a level, one is down a level, one may be a regular single level. Configurations vary. Very confusing if you don't know the building in advance.

Similar to the Coney Island High Rise buildings, like you said you have to know your buildings and train for it.
Never heard them called Sandwich Apartments 🙂
