These vehicles have added bullet resistant door panels & front side window covering ....anybody have any info on how this went ? this will be the norm on NYPD vehicles.....hope all are OK.... https://twitter.com/FDNY/status/1030844486019112960
I contacted the BC who was at the job...he related that the added security panels did not present a problem at this job...they were easily cut....they cut the hinges & the B post...he did state that the computer terminal & related equipment which is attached to a center metal post all had to be cut & removed to enable the PO on the drivers side to be removed thru the passenger side due to limited access on the drivers side.....the PD vehicle was hit in the passenger door by another car then hit a concrete retaining wall then came to rest sandwiched between 2 cars.....something to consider may be having a local PD car swing by your MUD so all can get a closer look at the interior setup.
