A good lesson to be learned from this job - hats off to TL-33 & BC 20 on this call.  This was a commercial building with a high ceiling. Apparently a machine had over heated & the smoke built up inside the structure. TL-33 seeing the smoke pushing from several spots asked for the box to be transmitted. Batt 20 was the covering Battalion Chief since the 15th was at another fire (HONE AVE). Batt 20 requested an additional 1 & 1.

It sounded like they might have had the makings of a good fire. Afterwards when Batt 20 reported that the smoke was just from an overheated motor, I was in the area & took a ride over there. The smoke was pouring out of the building some 20 minutes into the job when I arrived. Something that I have not seen in a good number of years. They even used a charged line to help get rid of some of the smoke.
