"At 5:33 pm yesterday the Long Beach Fire Department received a report of a person drowning at Lincoln Blvd. and the Ocean Beach Park. First arriving units confirmed a person in the water to the west of the Lincoln Jetty.
Four members of the Long Beach Fire Department entered the water, one on a surfboard and 3 swimming, they reached the victim and removed him from the water in cardiac arrest.
Once on land, CPR was initiated, a defibrillator was placed on the victim, he was placed on a Reeves Stretcher and transported in the back of Water Rescue 2395 up to the Boardwalk.
The patient was placed in the back of Ambulance 2321, where Advanced Life Support Treatment was performed and the patient was transported to Mount Sinai South Nassau Emergency Department at Long Beach.
The patient regained a pulse and was later transferred to Mount Sinai South Nassau by Ambulance 2321.
Units on scene: Engine 2343, Tower Ladder 2372, Ambulance 2321, Atlantic Beach Rescue , Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department, Inwood Fire Department.
The Woodmere Vol. Fire Department also responded with an Ambulance to assist with other Alarms.
All operations were under the Command of Chief John Marino and Assistant Chief Hadrick Ray.
