9/8/25 Brooklyn 2nd Alarm Box 1052

Blow torch guy who started the fire is probably the same one who parked his roofing company work van on the hydrant…
Yup! Hunch confirmed… guy who started the fire was the SAME person parked on the hydrant “Odoms Roofing.”

ARRESTED 🚨
FDNY Fire Marshals arrested 63-year-old Alonza Odom for illegally using a blow torch, which sparked a 2-alarm fire in Brooklyn on September 8th. The Bureau of Fire Investigation determined that Odom was performing illegal torch work on the roof of 245 Hawthorne Street. When firefighters arrived on scene, there were two blocked hydrants. Odom parked his work vehicle directly in front of the nearest hydrant, hindering FDNY operations. He was issued three criminal summonses by the Bureau of Fire Prevention for parking on the fire hydrant, failure to provide an FDNY permit for torch work, and the illegal storage/handling/use of a propane container for torchwork on the rooftop of a multiple dwelling without the required FDNY permit. Odom has been charged with reckless endangerment of property and received a desk appearance ticket. The owner of the vehicle blocking the other hydrant was also issued a criminal court summons.
