Here we go again!  Instead of hiring the most qualified people for a job we are going to turn over backwards so that we don't offend anybody in the hiring process.  Forget the fact that New York has the best fire department in the nation and probably the world it isn't diverse enough of them we will hire underqualified people to fill the ranks and lower the efficiency of the entire department.  Who in the world voted for this mayor anyway?  At least he is not closing companies because with underqualified firefighters or companies will be needed at every fire.

I don't understand, they say it is biased so people who didn't score high are eligible for back pay ?? How can they prove they would have done better ?? What's not to say that if they gave an unbiased test that the rankings would not come out the same ?? Or is the whole point just to hire unqualified people because the make up of the city is this percentage and this percentage that. Now people who are qualified won't get jobs because they had an unfair advantage ?? That advantage being the color of there skin !! What about white kids that grew up in the inner city they had the same schooling, news flash the inner city is not all minority ? This is reverse discrimination, where will this stop. I mean I wanted to be a pro basketball player, I didn't do good enough and didn't make the team maybe I should file a lawsuit saying the nba discriminates against whites and the team should be x-percentage white because the city they play in is that percentage. No I would be called a sore loser and a racist.
