Combine this story with recent media stories about burned out BCFD paramedics and the multiple LODD Board of Inquiry.
The LODD report was dumped on last Friday afternoon with only a press statement from an absent Mayor. On the same day we hear that the Fire Chief has resigned.

i believe that the LODD report was finished in September, but not released until now. In that report page 4 is a message from Dr. Niles Ford (an itinerant worker), Chief of Fire Department. That page is blank.

In light of all of the above issues, Chief Ford should have been fired. In private business, he would have been long gone. It looks to me like he was allowed to resign after he found a new place to hide. That report was held until he nailed that sinecure down. Then the report release and the sad resignation occur at the same time so that we will think the two are related.

To paraphrase Dennis Smith:

"The real devil gets away without a burn and the children of the BCFD are the victims."
