I know there is Unit location maps, Division maps, but what about Battalion coverage map? I know the coverage areas change from time to time but is it set street boundaries like NYPD or do they overlap?

Sorry if this question has been asked a number of times before.

The WNYF maps of BN areas only show the "administrative" district (Firehouse Supervision/Building Inspection Supervision).......this goes by streets & does not overlap....there is no actual map of the "response" area (Boxes  they respond to).

Basically....provided that they are in service at the time......or .....the next closest gets selected.

Battalions respond just like the engines, nearest to the box location.

For example, look at the alarm assignment for box 958 in Brooklyn:

235 280 214 219
249 234 217 230
210 211 222 227
226 220 239 216
218 248 277

Using the engines as a guide the chiefs will be
BC57
BC38
BC37
BC35
BC41

There as no hard boundaries per se.

For admin matters, the battalion is determined by the admin unit. For example, ladder 106 is in the 28 battalion administratively even though the 28 goes to some boxes up there 3rd or 4th due.

My example above is a rough approximation of the actual card. In reality BC31 would be 5th due making him either the staging manager or the 3-3 chief.
