Many members of this web site are very familiar with the Bayside's Bourbon St.

We have frequently made trips from Ct., N.J., Virginia, even Tenn., plus the surrounding areas in upstate N.Y. to be there. We have often met at a place called Maggie Mays, just off of Bell Blvd, aka Bayside's Bourbon St. A friendly neighborhood of several restaurants and bars.

For many of us, we have gotten to know the people who work there and they know us too. Now they are all out of a job because of this COVID19. All good people who represent a small sample of so many other good, hard working people, like them.

I can only speak for myself, but I just feel that once we get the word from the officials that we are given the "All Clear", my plan is to continue doing as I have, staying home, wearing my mask when I need to go out shopping, and keeping that six foot distancing.

When the time does finally come, I will be ready to celebrate with many of my friends who I haven't seen in awhile. A huge Maggie Mays Burger Platter will taste better than ever. Hopefully that will happen when we reunite again.

For those who don't know, the owner of Maggie Mays is a retired FDNY War Years Firefighter.

I might also add this. The other day I was in Bridgeport (CT) and what I saw was NOT too promising. Every other street corner were small groups of people just hanging out. No six foot social distancing, no mask, nothing. All putting their own lives, as well as ours, at risk. So should the numbers there start to increase, I will NOT be surprised at all.

You will be pleased to know that down the street from Bourbon St, on the corner of Bell Blvd. and Northern Blvd is a White Castle,  been there forever. So after a good meal at Bourbon St, you can stop at WC for a snack!!!

On the short walk along Bell Blvd look left on 41st Avenue and you  find Donovans Bayside, and at the corner of 214 Place and 41 Ave is Engine 306. That building used to be the home of L 152 and the 53rd Battalion as well.  L 152 let there around 1960 to Utopia Pkway with E 299 a block from 495..

I believe Donovans in Bayside is or was connected to Donovans in Woodside where we had a great meal and then lost a car !!!! If I remember correctly, we had lunch at the White Castle on Queens Blvd in Sunnyside.

Kevin, Willy D is very familiar with that White Castle on the corner of Bell and Northern. He has invested heavily in it.

Well Kevin, aka Kfd274", Yes, I am familiar with that White Castle. I have stopped there for a midnight snack of a dozen sinkers in the past. But "I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE". In fact it was a few members here who "highly recommended" them.

Now the story about that get together several years ago at Donovan's in Woodside. You (Kfd274) and I can remember some "Hick from Ct" who got his car towed that was parked right in front of Donovan's, but didn't know what the sign "No parking" meant because of street cleaning in the coming early morning hours.

When that guy came out and saw his car gone, "it was a moment of sheer terror for the owner of that car". I remember you, Kevin, flagged down a passing police car and they gave the guy a number to call to pick up his car in the car pound in Brooklyn. It closed at midnight and you took the guy there just in time to get his car, pay the fine and towing fee, and leave NYC back to his Ole' Homestead in the sticks of Connecticut.

If it wasn't for you Kevin, he'd be sleeping in the streets that night.
