Incident Location: 306 Nassau Street
In the early morning hours of Sunday, October 13th, 2024, the Bellmore Fire Department along with mutual aid companies operated on the scene of a signal ten [working fire] on Nassau Street off Centre Avenue. Firefighters put multiple hand lines into operation for heavy fire at the rear of and into a one and a half story private dwelling. Due to the significant amount of fire the incident reached a second alarm equivalency which brought additional resources into the scene and new units to stand by for Bellmore while they operated. All occupants made it safely out of the home and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Bellmore Chief of Department Oakes [600-00] had command of the incident. (Text Credit K2M).
