Bellmore NY (Nassau) Working Fire 7/3/22

On the night of Sunday, July 3rd, 2022, the Bellmore Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a truck fire in the vicinity of Park Place and Legion Street. As fire units were responding they were advised by Six Five Zero dispatch that multiple calls were being received reporting the fire. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with fire inside of a fully loaded cargo trailer. Firefighters put two hand lines into operation and had the main body of fire quickly knocked down; however, extensive overhaul was needed. The trailer, which appeared to be carrying furniture, did not extend to the van it was linked to and there weren’t any exposure issues. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Bellmore First Assistant Chief Timothy Carroll [600-01]. Text courtesy K2M Photography.
