Does anyone know if FDNY was dispatched to this confined space rescue? Sounds like law enforcement was on the scene when Verizon pulled up. Was it a situation where the PD was flagged down and then requested ESU over the air (possibly the call didn't go to 911) or was FD also notified? Glad the child apparently is okay.

I did hear the confined space matrix dispatched to this.

Special units were quickly returned to service due to the boy being removed from the hole.

METS, to answer your question: In this article it reports that the Fire Dept. said that the boy was taken to a nearby hospital. My guess is that they did respond somewhere down the line.

Occurred at the intersection of 49th Street & 13th Avenue

Engine 282 / Ladder 148 First Due

Acording to another post a response was initiated however many times when there is no actual Fire side response the FDNY may be quoted because the EMS side did respond & treated & or transported.

If PD radioed this in for ESU would Rescue have picked up on it if in house? Don't they have the PD Freq's going in their house for incidents just like this?
