Fire in large grandstand roof area of the horse racetrack that was built in 1935. The large racetrack complex is being converted by a major development plan to replace the racetrack with a large housing development. Tower ladders and ladder pipes used to hit the tall roof areas.

1st alarm companies would be Engines 56, 5, 9, 8 Ladders 21, 2
TL 3, R1, RIT Ladder 1
District 1, Division 1
Fire in District 1 north of Logan Airport near Revere. Difficult location for responding companies on multiple alarms to reach - had to use tunnel or bridge. BFD had water supply problems at old race track. Race track closed for racing in 2014 but continued use for simulcast and betting.

When they brought back the Spenser for Hire series they filmed parts of it there, it was ready for the demolition crew then. I went to Revere and lost my money on the greyhounds!
There was a ground-breaking ceremony last week for new housing development.

12:16 PM Boston 6th Alarm at the old Suffolk Downs race track. 2 Ladder Pipes and Tower 10 operating. Still have hvy smoke and fire in an old press box area.

Well I will put my money on District 11, Allston-Brighton. They had the first 9-alarm job which made Moe very happy. So look for 10-5XXX, first digit for their boxes is 5.
