Reading about the job in Macy's in downtown Brooklyn brought something to mind.  Does anybody have info on a department store fire in Brooklyn sometime in the 70s.  I seem to remember it was a daytime fire with civilian deaths.  Thanks !

I remember that fire.  There was an article, or possibly just a cover photo about it in WNYF.

The fire was a 3rd alarm for  Brooklyn box 590. I believe the fire was in Field's dept store and was on  the 22nd of December 1976. 12 people died in the fire. The photo was on the cover of the 4th issue 1976 WNYF and the story appears in the 3rd issue 1977.
