Camden, NJ- 8th Alarm 06-11-11

Sounds like somebody is trying to get urban renewal started in a big way in Camden!

Of course, the politicians' response will be:  "We need to cut another 40% of the Camden FD to correct this situation and prevent a repeat of this and other fire events.  After all, if we have fewer firemen and less apparatus, we'll have fewer fires!" :'( :'( :'(

In January the City of Camden laid off 68 firefighters and 170 police officers.
Those numbers work out to be 33% of the fire department and 50% of the police department.
I believe that Camden fire currently runs 7 Engines, 3 Ladders, a squad,
1 Div Ch., 2 Batt. Ch. and a Rescue
