On the morning of Saturday, August 27th, 2022, the Carle Place Fire Department was dispatched to a reported electrical fire at Thomas’ Diner on Old Country Road. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with fire showing around the electrical service on the number three side of the structure. Although no working fire was a transmitted a first alarm mutual aid assignment was requested including a FAST. Firefighters put at least one hand line into operation when it was safe to do so and were able to keep the fire from extending further. All occupants made it safely out of the restaurant and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Text courtesy K2M Photography.
