A house fire spread to a neighboring house in suburban Denver Wednesday. I was listening to the dispatch audio live and while officially it is considered a 2-Alarm Fire an additional 5 engines and two medics were dispatched on top of the second alarm bringing the total to 13 engines, 4 ladder trucks, 9 medics, 3 battalion chiefs, 1 district chief, 2 safety chiefs, and one rehab truck. Something I found interesting is that the second alarm and beyond was dispatched as a separate incident and dispatched to the staging location, then as individual units were called to the scene out of staging they were redispatched to the fire location and removed from the staging incdent.
