Chelsea is a very busy city, more than most people think. Located just north of Boston, Chelsea has around 35,000 people living in around 2 square miles. Chelsea FD operates 3 Fire Stations and runs 3 Engines and 2 Ladders w/a Deputy Chief on-duty. In 2011, Chelsea Engine 2 was one of the busiest Engines in the country, with over 4,000 runs and a ton of fire duty. There were also two massive conflagrations, the Great Fire of 1908, and the Great Fire of 1973 that destroyed several city blocks.
