A house more than 100 years old was destroyed by fire early Friday. The house was vacant and known to have squatters. The fire was believed to have started in a rear addition to the house and spread to the remainder of the home. Crews had some difficulty attacking the fire due to the location of the house on a hill as well as issues with hydrants. As a result, a second alarm was requested.
