Tuesday evening Cincinnati Fire Department was dispatched to the East Westwood neighborhood for a report of smoke in the hallway of an apartment building.
Still Alarm: Engine 12, Engine 21, Ladder 35, Ladder 20, Ladder 17 (RAT), Heavy Rescue 14, Medic 12, District 3
Upon arrival they found a person suffering from a gunshot wound. An additional medic (Medic 29) and ALS Supervisor (ALS 34) were requested. It was determined that the smoke posed no threat and the building was cleared. Police reported that a potential suspect in the shooting was barricaded in the building. Cincinnati Police SWAT Team was requested. CFD Ladder 35, Medic 12, ALS 35, and District 3 remained at the scene to aid police while other crews were released. Media has not reported on an arrest in the crime.
