Maybe there is need to address some individual abuse, but time clocks, or fingerprint scans, seem to be a step backward in time. Seems it will create more problems than it will solve. Are members who are late going to be disciplined? If you work out after duty, do you remain scanned in? Will actual pay be based upon hours scanned in? Will flexibilty disappear? Do you have to go back to quarters before going home if you are on a detail or in training, just to scan out? Will these be public records available to anyone by FOIA?
Also, just because someone scans in, it does not mean they remain there. You can scan in, leave, and come back to punch out.
