Incident Location: 1130 Campagnoli Avenue

The Copiague Fire Department was alerted for a house fire in the vicinity of Meucci Avenue and Campagnoli Avenue about 15:00 on November 22, 2023. Third Assistant Chief Orlando was the first to respond and was advised that numerous calls were being taken. Chief Orlando arrived and transmitted a working fire with fire showing from the first and second floors of the two story home in the dead end of Campagnoli Avenue. Engine 1-3-5 was first due and had a hydrant on the corner and layed in. Ladder 1-3-4 set up in front of the house. Engine crews stretched and operated four lines to extinguish the fire and bring it under control in about 90 minutes. The Ladder crews, laddered, searched, and vented the home with all searches being negative. There was nobody home at the time of the fire, and one pet perished. Mutual aid to the scene was provided by the North Lindenhurst Fire Department who was the dual response Engine, the Lindenhurst Fire Department for an Engine and RIT, Amityville Fire Department for an extra Ladder and the North Amityville Fire Company for an Ambulance. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Town of Babylon Fire Marshal and Suffolk County Police Arson Squad. (Credit Zone2Photo)
