Trooper, firefighter hurt in crash that closed Route 9 south in Cromwell
Route 9 south in Cromwell was closed on Wednesday morning because a trooper and a firefighter were hurt when they responded to an overturned vehicle.

Our roads and highways are so dangerous
Recently, there was an accident involving a piece of fire apparatus in our local town and a civilian who was either "high on drugs" or "drunk" crashed into a fire truck.
The fire apparatus, police and ems were on the scene of a previous auto accident when the fire truck was hit.
Fortunately, in this case NO firefighters, police, or ems, operating at the scene were hurt, although the civilian driver operating under the influence was.
