A structure fire occurred at a two-story residence right next door to the Randolph District VFD. The resident is the oldest member of our fire department in his 80s. He cuts the grass around the fire station, brings us drinks at fires and helps out around our fire station. He was grilling his dinner on his back porch and he had walked away from the grill thank God and was inside his residence when the grill caught fire and the LP tank exploded. The rear one story extension on the house was heavily involved and fire did extend somewhat into the kitchen. There was no extension to the second floor but the entire structure has smoke damage. Farmville FD and Cumberland FD assisted at this fire.
