Cumberland County, Virginia Working Fire May 2, 2020

The Randolph District FD assisted by the Farmville FD and the Cumberland FD responded to 422 Pleasant Valley Rd. at 2341 hours when a dryer hose fire ignited an adjacent wall void and spread into the next room were considerable fire damaged that area. Also the living room and kitchen had heavy heat and smoke damage. The Farmville FD did a primary search on the 2nd floor and all occupants were able to exit the structure. Prior to the arrival of fire apparatus 2 RDFD members used a garden hose and 2 water cans to slow the fire progress but were driven out of the structure by heat. Companies took up at 0240 hrs. on May 3, 2020
