Dear Community Members,
Today, Bright Fire and EMS responded to a structure fire on Jackson Ridge Road. Arriving crews encountered heavy fire within the home. Together with law enforcement, crews quickly verified that no occupants were inside, allowing operations to transition from search and rescue to a transitional attack.
The rapid spread of the fire and the building's construction presented significant challenges. Additionally, the lack of a nearby fire hydrant required us to divide operations between water shuttling and fire attack, allowing crews to manage the fire from multiple sides.

We extend a special thanks to the Batesville Fire Department for providing an engine crew to cover our station and protect our service area while our resources were committed. Calling in this level of mutual aid temporarily reduces coverage across the region, increasing response times and reliance on neighboring agencies such as Green Township and Colerain.
Establishing a water supply in areas without hydrants requires substantial manpower and equipment. Furthermore, fire departments nationwide continue to face staffing challenges and a shortage of volunteer firefighters, a issue that is especially acute during daytime hours when many volunteers are at work. Addressing these systemic challenges is vital as our community continues to grow.
Until long-term solutions are in place, we remain grateful to all the dedicated first responders and agencies who step up to keep our community safe.
