We started 2024 monthly Zoom meetings with a guest speaker who has been connected over 50 years to the fire service. This time, Wayne Powell from Maryland is returning to talk about a recent trip that he took last month with some friends to two fire related museums in the Northeast.
Come along as Wayne shares some of his knowledge of fire service history. He will be presenting slides showing hand-pulled fire equipment to modern day rigs.
This will take place Tuesday night, December 3rd, at 7:30 p.m., NYC time on the NYCFirenet Zoom link.
The year was started off with Wayne Powell, a 50-year vet of the Fire Service, presenting “A Historical Look at the National Fire Academy”. Mr Powell served as a senior staff member at their Emmitsburg, Maryland facility until he retired. His presentation provided an interesting perspective about why some of their partnerships have proven so vital to America’s defenses against unwanted fires. The team was provided with information about many of USFA’s ongoing programs.
