East Farmingdale NY (Suffolk) Working Fire 3/17/23

On the afternoon of Friday, March 17th, 2023, the East Farmingdale Fire Company along with mutual aid units operated on the scene of a working fire on Mahan Street between Edison and Patton Avenues. Firefighters put at least one hand line and one master stream into operation for a fire in a one story, multi-tenant commercial building. The fire which consumed several vehicles inside of a repair shop led to one worker being transported to NUMC for burns and smoke inhalation. Aside from the one civilian aided there were no other injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation, the scene was placed under control approximately one hour into the operation and all fire department units were under the command of East Farmingdale Chief of Department Lewis [1-5-30].
