Incident Location: 2449 Cadillac Drive
On the morning of Monday, October 28th, 2024, the East Meadow Fire Department was called to a house fire with people trapped on Cadillac Drive off Clearmeadow Drive. East Meadow Fire Chiefs Walsh and Rosenthal were among the first to arrive on scene and were met with smoke showing leading to the transmission of a signal ten [working fire] and request for mutual aid. The Chiefs were also met with an elderly female on the second floor of the residence that they were able to locate, rescue and remove. The occupant was then turned over to medical personnel and transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Firefighters went on to stretch two hand lines and put at least one hand line into operation off East Meadow Engine 614 for a second floor bedroom fire. All other searches in the home were negative and the cause of the fire is under investigation. East Meadow Chief of Department Walsh [6100] had command of the incident (Text Credit K2M).
