Reported House Fire, Person Trapped On Roof Of The Garage.
Signal 10 (Working Fire) Transmitted.
Fire In A 2-Story Private Dwelling.

In the early morning hours of Monday, April 8th, 2024, the Elmont Fire Department along with mutual aid companies operated on the scene of a signal ten [working fire] on Doherty Avenue off Hempstead Turnpike. Firefighters put one hand line into operation for a fire on the first floor of a two-story private dwelling. The fire was quickly extinguished, and its cause is under investigation. When firefighters first arrived, they were met with a second-floor occupant that evacuated onto the roof of an adjacent carport on the number four side of the building. The occupant was safely brought down and not seriously injured. All fire department units were under the command of Elmont Chief of Department Segovia [7010]. (Text Credit K2M)
