Elmont NY (Nassau) Working Fire 9/29/22

The Elmont Fire Department operated on the scene of a signal ten [working fire] on the night of Thursday, September 29th, 2022. Those first to arrive on scene were met with fire showing from a breezeway area located between a detached garage and a one and a half story private dwelling. Elmont Engine 703 was the first engine company to arrive on scene and put one hand line into operation. The fire was quickly knocked down before it could extend into the residence. Despite early reports of people reentering the home all occupants made it out safely. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
